Linksys WUSB54GSC - Pretty good; should be better.
My Linksys wireless USB adapter works pretty well, except that it is a little weak in picking up a signal. I use it on a Dell desktop to pick up my Linksys wireless router system in the next room. I am surprised that it only gets four out of five bars on the signal strength. My roommate also uses one, and has the same problem. My laptop, with built-in wireless card, for comparison, always gets five bars in the same location. That said, the adapter has no problem acquiring the signal and the connection has to be repaired only once in a while. All in all, I would say, for a Linksys product, this card should function a little better. But I am happy with it and will stick with it.

usb wireless-g
I'm a big fan of Linksys products. Currently I'm using this product with my desktop (ease of use). I'm currently using Fios as the ISP. The setup was extremely easy (as expected), but the range of the usb wireless-g was OK. If I had to do it over again, I would opted for a PCI card with an antena. I'm comparing my laptop built in wireless-g to the usb, and the difference in speed is remarkable. My desktop is a Quad core Q6700 as oppose to a T7250 dual core 2GHZ laptop.

Plays well with Vista
I bought this Linksys wireless adapter to along with the Linksys wireless router. Initially, it worked like a champ then it started to get buggy after a few months of constant use. The adapter had a difficult time finding a signal and if it did, the signal was weak. I left my computer on hibernate mode but it seemed to leave the adapter still running. After turning off my computer when I wasn't using it everyday, the card seemed to go back to its happy go lucky ways!

Wireless Adapter
I have bought a number of these wireless devices over the years. These are small and have very good range, allowing me to even set up a computer on my bench in the garage. Older wireless adapters would not have had that range. This one also sets up fast but on occasion the Linksys software drops the connection requiring you to manually connect. I would suggest setting it up so Windows manages the wireless connection as that seems to be more reliable.

Good speed at a nice price
I'm not a big fan of wireless anything given the unknown dangers, but as wireless items go, this is one of the best. Setup was easy and with my current operating system, the computer recognized the usb network adapter with no trouble; however a quick call to Linksys was necessary to help me bypass the included software and allow Windows built-in utility to override certain settings. If you're having doubt as to which compact adapter to buy, do your research and you'll find that this one is one of the best out there currently plus the speedboost is a big bonus! I've had this item a few weeks and I'm satisfied so far.I must also add to this review that you should wait for it to go on sale as the current price is outrageously high, considering the sale price was just 5.00 dollars!

works great with windows 7
easy to install, I've actually had a network cable connection ON while installing the Linksys Adapter. Windows 7 automatically searched the web for the latest drivers and worked well. After that i unplugged the network connection and tested the speed booster, and it worked just great. I was a little scared it might not work with windows 7, but if you leave the network connection on, then it should be piece of cake. I used the PC on my basement because there is no telephone line, the range is great, but not the speed, I guess is because i am on the basement, but that's ok, i really don't noticed it much.

quick and easy setup, works great
Well, like any product, there are those who love it and those who hate it. Our family likes this wireless G adapter. My husband bought it, and he doesn't know much at all about computers. He plugged it in and Voila! He had internet upstairs and the wireless router is downstairs. He has used it for about 9 months now with no problems and we are buying one for our son's laptop becuase the internal in his just went bye-bye. Based on our experiences with this item, I recommend this as a low cost way to get wireless on your desktop or laptop.

Didn't work at the beginning, but worked later on
The software (driver) seems to have some minor bugs during installation. But after all it works. The adapter at the beginning did not work, i.e., the speed is extremely slow. After a couple days, it worked fine with excellent speed on both XP and Vista OS (I tried on both). No idea the instability is due to hardware problem or driver problem. There is no perfect adapter with USP port. The best way is to have an internal adapter.
