I love buying pearl filled oysters, but better yet, I love giving them as gifts! I buy this set multiple times a year and put a sealed oyster, a silver necklace chain, and a pearl cage in a gift bag and give them out as birthday gifts, Christmas presents, and get well gifts. Really any occasion. It's just a hands on, fun, unique, AND INEXPENSIVE, way to give a gift.The oysters come in various sizes that are in individually vacuum sealed packages. Once you cut open the package, forewarning, the smell is not very pleasant, but it's not a deal breaker. I use scissors and cut around the outside to open them, but really you can snap them in half. Be careful of the edges because they can be sharp, especially if you are prying it open with your nails and the shell goes under your nail. Ouch! While I think oysters look absolutely disgusting on the inside, they are completely upstaged by the beautiful pearl that awaits you underneath. I've had almost every color of the rainbow, but that is the fun part, not knowing what color you're going to get. Make sure you don't touch your eyes when handling the oyster and, obviously, you're gonna want to wash your hands or any equipment you used to open the oyster. These are totally worth the price and I would most certainly be purchasing these again!

This was a lot of fun for our kids. There were a few stinky ones, but definitely nothing unbearable. The kids had fun shucking and were able to do so using a butter knife.Pearls were colored funky, however.The color wasn’t evenly distributed throughout the pearl causing a marbled appearance in many. We also had numerous oysters with the same color pearls. So the variety of colors was pretty boring. All in all, it was a fun activity for our family and has us wanting to buy more.

Oysters are easy to open, and the colors are so beautiful. I have yet to have a "stinky" batch.

I saw someone doing this on Facebook Live and decided I wanted to order some. Found these gems for a great price ($32 for 30) they came in quick and didn’t smell that bad which was a huge plus. They are beyond easy to open ( like can do it with your hands if you really wanted) they are super small but the pearls are a great size. They are definitely dyed somehow not very natural looking but still super fun and pretty. Each one was a different color which was nice but unrealistic For natural pearls. Would purchase again.

They have beautiful colors. Just be aware that they are definitely not 7-8mm big. I would guess 4-5mm at most. The colors are not uniform and the shape is not perfectly round. I happen to like that about them. But if you are expecting huge bright round ones - you most likely will not receive that. It depends on how they culture them. They do have a wider variety of color than ones from other sellers and also more round. My last purchase from another seller I mostly got white, cream hues. And the shapes were very odd. But I enjoy the charm of an imperfect pearl.IF YOU WANT 7-8mm that are perfectly colored and round- this isn’t the purchase for you.IF YOU WANT 4-5mm that have uneven color or shape- that’s what you will get with this seller.I may purchase from this seller again. Even though I believe the pictures and description of the size are false advertising.

I got these for my daughter's birthday party and everyone loved it. Since each oyster was vacuumed sealed I didn't know If I should refrigerate when I received it. Since it came not refrigerated I left the package as is. I read about how much the oysters smelled. Once I opened the vacuum seal bag I put each oyster in a bucket of water right away. I then poured the water out outside and filled it with fresh water. Right before the party I again dumped the water out and refilled with fresh. By the time my husband was opening the oysters there was barely a scent. These are obviously not real pearls nor did I except them to be but the reaction of finding the 'pearl' was amazing and thr differentcl colors were great. My husband was able to crack most of the oysters by hand. The ones that were too hard he used our crab cracker. You could probably use a hammer. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is because of direction and everything I had to get ready to go. I got a bucket from Dollar tree and rubber gloves for me and my husband. We never touched the oysters with bare hands. After my husband got the 'pearl' out it automatically went into a small cup of water to rinse it. The pearls were beautiful colors and all of the oysters had one in it. I got necklaces for the pearls and they turned out beautiful.
