The iOptron CubePro mount is a nice grab and go ALT-AZ mount
The mount came well packed, with double box, and polyurethane protections, The iOptron CubePro mount is a nice grab and go ALT-AZ mount, ideal for travel, it is very light, weighing only 5.8 Kg complete!!!, mount with counterweight, tripod and counterweight shaft, the mount is aluminum made, it came with Universal Ac adapter, works with 100- 240 VAC., also came with the battery cable, and can be powered with 8 AA batteries, making it very versatile. The tripod is very well made, very good quality, the legs are made of stainless steel 1", the mount base is made of aluminum, the eyepiece tray is made of plastic, the tripod is stable , if you respect the limits of the mount, I bought this mount to have a second mount for observing while the EQ mount is taking images, also for a quick setup, and as a grab and go, in general I am happy with it, this is a very good mount (as long as the weight limitations are respected),and if it is used as intended.for me is doing what I was expecting, It is ideal for small telescopes, the hand control is made of very good quality, the data base is huge, 130,000 objects, the screen is very large, it is very user friendly, is easy to use,the tracking is good, It has three tracking modes, Lunar,Solar ,and sidereal, .I manage to track the sun and the moon for over 45 mins dead center in the eyepiece,it has 9 slew speeds. it is very easy to align. the go to accuracy is enough to have the object within the field of view of the view finder or a wide field eyepiece, the only cons, are: the hand control push buttons are quite stiff, you have to press them hard to make them work, there is a wobble movement in the mount head, if you touch it with your hand, but does not affect the performance of the mount while you are observing, (if you don't touch it) the hand controller has a USB port and comes with a USB cable, to connect it and control it with a computer using any planetarium software ,or a wifi device like sky-fi or the orion star-seek to be able to control it with your iPad or iphone, I have to say, I am experiencing some problems to control it using the star-seek wi-fi device (sold separately )and my iPad ,I can slew the telescope to 1 or two objects and then it disconnects, I can not tell if the problem is in the USB connector, in the hand control, or if it is in the wi-fi module.,I tried with different USB cables and two different applications, starseek from orion and sky safari, with the same result, I contacted iOptron, but they could not give me a proper solution, because of this issue, I am giving 4 stars, otherwise I I'll give them 5 starsI think for the price it worth it ,but is not a bargain, as a second mount to have fun is perfect,, , but if you are looking for a serious mount, I would recommend other options, the mini tower and if your intentions are to jump in to astrophotography some day, is better to look for a EQ MOUNT

Fantastic tracker for small telescopes
The first reviewer needs to contact Ioptron. They will make it right. I have had no problem with this product and in fact am very pleased with it's operation. It is not a high end star tracker, but you will not find a better unit for the price. as a matter of fact, this unit compares with units at much higher prices. I built my own wedge for it and am using it as an equetorial mount. The hand piece, the brains of the unit, is very easy to use and understand. The backlight has verious degrees of brightness and shuts off the back light after a few minutes of no use. I haven't done a 3 star align yet, but it does a good job on 1 star align. I am using it for astrophotography, but be aware, you need to keep exposures short, and stack your photos, to prevent trailing, it does drift a little. As I said I have not done a 3 star align yet. It may drift less if that is done properly. it is no more difficult to set up than any other EQ mount. The tripod that came with it is solid and stable, but I went to a taller tripod to save my back. None of the draw backs I listed deminish my rating, because for the price this is an excelant buy. Customer service at Ioptron took a day to get back to me, but they where very friendly to talk to, and they are users of their own product, very open to suggestions, and very helpful. I called for a couple of questions and did not call for a problem. I am using a Celestron C90 Mak with a Canon Rebel attached and it handls the waight just fine.

Good field mount for widefield photography work
Bought this to replace my aging celestron slt mount, which I use in equatorial mode when camping to take widefield images. This mount can easily be used in eq mode, and it will even star align in that mode, something the slt can't do in eq mode very well. The good:Better tracking than the slt. When properly balanced and aligned, I can take up to 1min unguided images at 70mm, about 30sec at 200mm. And it can be guided using the optional st4 adapter. Goto is actually pretty accurate, especially after a 3 star align. And you can use syncing to the nearest star for even better accuracy. Large display with lots of info. Way better than the 2 line display on the slt handbox. With the counterweight, it can handle quite a bit of a load. The bad:- Have never been able to successfully control or guide the mount through the handbox. None of the drivers work well enough, not even if using the lx200 ones. So you have to spring for an st4 adapter from them and use an st4 compatible camera.- The display gets pretty laggy and almost unreadable in cold weather, especially blinking text.- enough unbalance in RA can cause the gears to slip.- tripod is next to useless. Get a good photo tripod and mount it on it.Overall though, for a fairly lightweight and compact mount to take camping (and even backpacking!) it's hard to beat for the price.

Awesome
The product itself is awesome. However I bought from the Amazon warehouse and the tray holder Peirce's were all broken. Could not support the unit. I had to purchase one and replace. I read Amazon discription. Edited I bought this used item and did not state anything about above mentioned.Butblikebindaid the unit itself is outstanding.
