This is a nice lower mid-level ping pong table
This is a nice lower mid-level ping pong table. The parts were made in Germany. It is very sturdy. This is an older discontinued model table (note: according to Kettler’s product description, this table was manufactured according to ISO 9002 standards – according to google, those standards were drafted in 1994, and became obsolete in 2000).The Kettler Stockholm used to be a really popular and strong selling model for Kettler. But this model has since been discontinued so you can’t buy it new from Kettler anymore. I can’t find out when it was discontinued. But in any event, what you see now available is old stock, which is presumably why it’s on sale. You can still buy replacement parts directly from the manufacturer for this table relatively inexpensively. Some things that separate this from cheaper tables you can find at your local mega-mart:(1) table thickness – this thing weighs about 200 lbs. Some of the cheaper tables are only 80 lbs.(2) center support bars. Sometimes you’ll come across a well-played table that is buckling or warped in the center. This table has two metal rods that support the center and the table is bolted to the metal rods.(3) the net is attached to two mental poles in the center, so that the net stays up even when this is folded away for storage.(4) it folds into a single rollaway unit with locking wheel brakes;(5) Ever seen a ping pong table in storage with a bungee cord holding the two sides in the up position? This table has four red locking gears, two on each side of the table, to prevent it from falling down on you when you’re rolling it in the folded position. For this price, they just don’t make them like they used too. This is a decent quality mid-range table for the price. Plus you’re getting a discount because this is an older model.Other Miscellaneous tidbits.Assembly. Despite what some other reviewers have said, assembly is not difficult. I would say you can easily find lego sets that are harder and more time consuming to assemble. That being said, I wouldn’t recommending using the instruction manual provided by Kettler. The manufacturer provides a photo for each individual step which is really confusing. A Kettler retailer created an assembly manual that shows you comprehensive “blueprint” type photos of where all the pieces go together like a road map. Do a google search for “stockholm gt instruction manual.” Ignore the results from Kettler’s website. Click on the first pdf search result from a United Kingdom-based retailer of Kettler. That’s all you need.Getting both tables to be the same height. On table side was about 1.5 cm lower than the other side. I was going to add a washer to the wheel support to fix this (I think a 2 mm washer between the metal leg and the wheel bracket is about equal to 1cm in table height adjustment). However, I discovered that rotating the largest shoulder bolt (i.e., the bolt from hardware bag #1 attaching the wheel bracket with the wheels), will adjust the table height about 2 cm. I don’t know why this works, but it fixed the problem for me so I didn’t have to add anything here. Maybe this is explained somewhere in the manufacturer’s instruction manual. I used a very slightly dampened cloth to wipe down the table, like it says to do in the manufacturer’s instruction manual. When I did so, I noticed that the cloth started coming away with some blue, so I stopped. I don’t know why the paint is coming off when the instruction manual says you can do this? I don’t think it’s good for the table to be losing paint. So I’d recommend using a completely dry cloth only to wipe away dust.

Great product - challenging assembly
This is our second Kettler outdoor table. By outdoor I mean it resides on our amply covered screened patio in Florida. So no direct sunlight or rain but the heat and humidity are horrendous five months of the year. Our last Kettler lived up to it’s fine reputation for performance and durability. That Kettler came to us assembled, this one in the box. It’s German for heavens sake, so all the parts were high quality and accounted for. Directions for assembly were visually helpful for most assembly steps but the written component which should lead you through the visuals, was terrible. Be advised that the assembly step where the playing surface panel is connected to the base, requires three adults, and one of the three better be strong. You will need 13, 10 and 8 mm wrenches in addition to the usual screwdrivers and plyers. Total assembly time was about 4 hours. I’m going out on a limb and estimating 70-80% of households would find this too difficult. Otherwise this is a terrific product that will provide many years of entertainment.

what a great ping pong table
Wow, what a great ping pong table. Pros: Well consructed indoor-outdoor table. Both the top and bottom is weather-proof and seals an inner core board which provides a standard playing surface.. Locking mechanisms keep the table sides from falling down when stored or popping up when being played. Large wheels for moving easily on grass. Cons: The blogs were right: it takes a amateur weight lifter and an engineer to spend half a day to put the table together. Note: the first table top was damaged (only one layer of cardboard with no protective packing but the replacement table arrived in perfect condition with 3 layers of protective packing!). Both Amazon and Kettler were incredibly terrific and quickly replaced the damaged table top. We've had lots of fun with this table. I highly recommend this Kettler Indoor-Outdoor ping pong table!

Birthday Present
The ping pong table was a present for my husband's birthday. The table was great, but the assembly was long and more of a two man job. The other complaint was the delivery. I had to go through hoops and bounds to have the company deliver the product without a signature. Literally I was waiting until the last minute for the delivery company to finally arrive for drop off. I was walking out the door when they showed up. (Delivery rarely ever happens when they say they will be there.)

I would definitely recommend this table.
It is a very nice table for the price. Easy to take up and down. Not too heavy. Installation took about three hours and definitely takes two persons.

I recommend for outdoor use
This is a quality table that should last a long time. The cover seems a bit thin but should last a few years. I recommend for outdoor use.
