Great sound, but terrible remote.
The sound on these headphones is outstanding, and since the cord is wrapped in a fabric mesh, they don't get hopelessly tangled or break. However, the remote and microphone never worked well on mine, and a few weeks after I used them regularly, the microphone quit entirely. Now the remote randomly raises and lowers the volume of my music and also will make the phone enter voice control mode. I will be contacting RHA to see how their warranty covers this. It's really not a functional headset, but the sound quality is so good, that I am going to give it three stars pending a negative experience getting them replaced.UPDATE: RHA was wonderful about replacing these earbuds and they seem to stand by their warranty. The replacement pair was an identical model and while the sound quality was every bit as good as my original purchase, the headset features worked properly from the outset. I had them for several months and they exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, a weakness near the 3.5mm phono jack has cut out the left earbud entirely, so I am contacting RHA again to see if their 3 year warranty extends to the replacement pair.RHA honored my replacement, and although they seem to have remote/microphone problems with this model the audio quality is still excellent.

Still made in China
They are 'Designed and Engineered' in Glasgow, Scotland but still made in China.Otherwise, they are beautifully designed, the cord is woven and tangle free, the sound isolation is nearly a good as my Etymotics, and the sound quality is spot on.UPDATE: After 5 months of use the right earphone has stopped working (remote still works though), very dissapointed after buying them due to the perceived superior quality and to replace my third pair of Etymotics which continually break at the phono plug.As a second point they did fall out of my ears more than other ear phones I've had, despite the excellent range of silicon bud sizes. My favorite one (the Etymotics style) has a different design to the rest meaning it very easily falls off the bud and I managed to lose both of mine in less than a week. Also the woven cord is pretty grubby after just a few months.Update: Contacted them through Amazon about a replacement, and new pair arrived in a few days.

I was expecting a little more
I bought these because of some great reviews. They are just alright. I have owned cheaper headphones that put out better sound.Note: I didn't use the provided rubber tips, I use Comply foam ones instead.Pros:Nice mids and highs.Build quality is good.Wires are nice and limber, they are cloth covered and very nice. They look good.Cons:The lows are a bit lacking. The white cloth over the wires got very dirty very quickly. If you purchase these get them in black!I thought the price is a little high for the sound quality.

Terrible Microphone, Comfortable, Good Sound Quality Until they Went Out...
The sound in this headset was great, that is until the left side stopped working, the microphone is very poor. I planned to use these on conference calls and I keep getting complaints from those I am talking to and have to take my headset out when talking on the phone so people can understand me. They complain of echos and background noise. There must be no noise cancellation technology in the microphone. Would be great if the sound didn't go out and there was some type of noise cancellation or a better microphone in these. They are comfortable.

AWESOME
Bought these sweet headphones cuz my old Apple headphones fell apart after 2 years heavy usage. As I received these headphones my first impression was "wow they are looking great" until I plugged them in and listened to some heavy stuff with lots of different frequences. Just one word - AWESOME. Very precise and defined lows and highs. The mids are decent nevertheless. Song called: Ambassadeurs - Vahlia. Buy them and you'll definitely be impressed. Therefore 5 stars RHA!Update:After two days the right speaker stopped working properly. Sometimes it seems to work, when tapping with my finger on the outer case. Will returned them immediately! What a shame ;(

Excellent at blocking outside noise
I find these pretty comfortable, but I do prefer the Apple earbuds that come with the iPhone 5. Still, these are very comfortable for the style and do an amazing job at keeping other sounds out which is perfect for air travel. The no tangle cord is fantastic and the sound quality is excellent.

Poor quality. The sound quality is good but after ...
Poor quality. The sound quality is good but after 3 months of use the right headphone stopped working after minimal use (maybe once or twice a week). Waste of money could of bought cheap ones for this construction quality. Sending in through warranty will change rating if they replace.

The bass is pretty standard, the highs come out best
The bass is pretty standard, the highs come out best. The worst flaw I guess is it is not good at separating everything, so the sound feels a little smashed and condensed.

An upgrade for me from a lost pair of Sennheiser CX300i's, these have excellent sound but slightly swamped by complex music
I would have traded £3 for doing away with the completely over the top and complex packaging these came in. It was far bigger than the earphones, presumably for retail sales. These are odd in that they do sit in your ear but because of the shape of the backs, they don't go in very far, but still achieve a very good fit. I found the sennheiser rubber bits too hard but these RHA ones are made of two different densities so you get the tight fit onto the earphone and a much softer, easier to seal flange touching your ear.As others have said, positioning is crucial as the amount of detail varies but not as extreme as the sennheisers. After 12 hours on full blast on a radio to loosen them up, they sound extremely detailed and very slightly soft. high quality recordings like philip glass or recent kate bush sound like they are there, in your head but with a wide stereo image and with every instrument faithfully positioned and reproduced. more complex music, particularly those with heavy beats, can slightly overwhelm and colour the sound but not by much and certainly much less than would be expected for this price. I would describe the sound overall as warm without being fuzzy and the detail is astonishing at the price. They come with SEVEN sets of replacement rubber tips, only one of which are double flanged (and rather soft). the rest seem to be two pairs each of three different sizes. This is useful but a wider range of double flanged as well would be best. the case is a typical cloth string pouch. Buy yourself a spring top coin purse on ebay for 99p which is far better than these pouches.Microphone quality seems ok but the buttons to stop and start and switch track on the microphone dangler are quite sensitive and small. You would have a hard time operating this with cold fingers or gloves but thats the same for all these minute mics. It hangs off the right earpiece and is only a short distance from the earbud itself so there is no clip on the back. The braided cable works well to keep tangles to a minimum. I think the super soft flanges of the tips reduce the sounds you get when you brush the cable against something compared to other earphones.IMHO a worthy upgrade to the sennheisers and other £35 earbuds for only a few pounds more. If you like your music pounding, buy something else but for most music these are great.

Jaw dropping....
So I finally broke my Sennheiser CX160 headphones and I won't lie, they will not be missed. Yes they were a massive improvement on the god awful, uncomfortable apple headphones, however music was just flat and pretty lifeless. As per usual I planned on grabbing another sub £25 pair of headphones, along the lines of sony or simular. I'm not one to fall for the "beats" trend as I use my headphones in the gym and all over the underground system... so I could very quickly loose those over priced bits of gear! Being a musician I should really spend more on this sort of product, but I am the clumsiest person alive, so I just worry that I'd loose or break my gear within a month. My usual routine of hitting the amazon reviews was very quickly disrupted when I saw these RHA headphones....They were being compared to Beats, but at the fraction of the price? Intrigued, well I have to say I was. The idea of having the controller was rather enticing and what pushed me over the edge was a reviewer saying that these are pretty much the price of a round of drinks...which was so true (this weekend confirmed that for sure!)I have also read that you need to break these headphones in to hear it's true beauty, which means I have even more to look forward to, because being a child stuck in adults body, I immediately ripped the pack apart and plugged them into my mac, logged into spotify and played a few tracks from my "liked" list. Amazing to say the least... bass was the first thing that hit me.... so smooth and well rounded, even at high volumes. It was like someone was making love to my ear drums!Throw away your cheap headphones, and treat your lugs to a pair of RHA's, they could well be the best things you purchase all year!:)

Almost a 5 {{{ Update April 2013 to 5 star}}}
I think these earphones are great, strong tough earpiece with nice braided cable useful for reducing tangles and increasing cable strength. The music sound is good, and as the driver gets used a bit the earphones become better. 3 year warranty is always a big plus.My only gripe is that I got the white earphones about 1 month ago, and already there are two small marks on the white of one earpiece where the paint has come off, revealing the aluminium underneath. This disappointed me as I have been quite careful with my the earphones and have always used the supplied case when transporting them.Otherwise im very happy with this RHA product, they delivered ahead of schedule and their website has all sorts of information for headphone wearers.April 2013 update:The earphones had developed a slight fault at the connector, sound would cut out and distort depending on if the cable was moved. A common problem to earphones, however with my last two (cheaper) pairs this hasnt happened. I contacted RHA about whether my warranty would cover this, and they immediately sent me a new pair by first class post and asked for the old pair back. The promptness and quality of service is what makes me give this product its five star upgrade from four star. Even if the earphones develop a fault, rest assured that RHA will look after you. I think for the price of the earphones, the great sound produced, and the quality of service from RHA, 5 stars are appropriate.Vic

Best earphones I've ever used - great buy!
So, the criteria:- I wanted a pair of good inner noise cancelling earphones- Nice highs, good mids and rich tonal bass.- An in-line remote to equal Apple's standard one on their earbuds which I could operate purely on feel without looking for the usual volume and call functions. After looking at earphone in the £30-60 price range and comparing specs, I plunged for RHA's MA450i in White - I was not disappointed!I've had these beauty's for about 2 months now and have to say they are the best pair of noise cancelling earphones I've had. Setup is a breeze with 7 fitting earbud sizes to get the perfect fit. The quality of the aluminium cones and the rubber earbuds themselves are a good solid tight fit and I can happily keep the earphones in for hours with no irritation. The only niggle I have is the 1.5m cord, its just a little too long. 1.2m would have been perfect (the standard Apple earphone length).Sound wise, they are uber cool. Rich bass on tracks I didn't realise had it there but not only good bass, but tonal too - I can pick out sounds and notes I didn't hear before. Mids are spot on, so are highs notes - very clear.Yes because these are inner noise cancelling earphones, you do get noise vibrations from when the cable in tapped/snagged etc but I've found you get that with all inner ear noise cancelling earphones.A Great Buy.

I was sceptical, but in all fairness, they are pretty darn good.
For the money, the 5 star reviews and claims that some Amazon shoppers had written had me thinking something fishy was going on, I received my RHA in ears quickly, but something wasn't right, the sound was gutless and over bright, no strength in the bass, I was very annoyed and disappointed. But, it turned out the set were faulty, RHA very quickly sent me a new set and well, I am amazed, such a true sound, they sound like the track should sound, no mega bass enhancement, treble and mid sounds very controlled and the bass response is true, I am very pleased with these, they put my Klipsch S4i to shame, I would love to hear something which is as good for them for the same money, I don't think it is possible.Coupled with the braided cord which rarely tangles, and the set of earbuds is sure to find you a perfect fit, these are 5 out of 5, and the service is brilliant.
