Took a punt on something I wouldn’t normally read, and it’s a brilliant book, finished in no time. An amazing life in writing!

I served for many a year in the same Regiment as Eddie, he is a little younger. The Early part of the book where mentioning his Military career, I thought was covered in good detail but most soldiers go through the mill in the same fashion. When Eddie starts to explain his job with the police, it was riveting, and I could not put the book down. His service in the police was outstanding and very informative. Some of the situations he found himself along others, was difficult to say the least. It was a great read and gave an insight to police work and the characters he and his colleges were trying to catch over many months. Well done Eddie. VFC

This is a no quibble, without gloss account of Eddie’s life from his early years in Bradford to service in the Army and then Police, where he operated in a covert role against OCGs. At times you feel part of the Op as Ed describes the actions to bring crimes to justice. A great tale of an eventful life but also a great reference book to places and times that will soon be forgotten or memories or disregarded. Highly recommend.

Great read, I knew Eddie over several chapters of his book, it’s a true story about an incredible man.

This is the first factual book that I've read about undercover work and it competes very well with fictional literature. What a dedicated man!

I started to read this book one Friday morning after Christmas, I could not put it down until I finished later the same evening. A really interesting and compelling read would recommend to anyone who likes non fiction.

A good read from start to finish, shows what you can truly achieve with determination and a bit of Yorkshire Grit, would recommend this to everyone.

I thought the book would have been about Eddie Towlers time spent in the Army.Good reading, but not entirely what I expected.
