My electrical knowledge is limited to automotive. I don’t do any home electrical. So let me talk about the car aspect:I build racecars and have always used regular combo wire strippers and crimpers. It’s a good solution but not the best. This kit is great. It comes with every type of crimp you could think of and I think the strippers go down to 22gauge. Great addition and has made my life building wiring harnesses much easier.

You can really only truly appreciate the right tool for the job after struggling for hrs and sometimes days with the wrong one lol. This tool works amazing and is very easy to operate. I got perfect crimps everytime.

I'm no electrician but I do some wiring now and then. I've had cheap crimping tools over the years. This one is nice. It cries perfectly every time. I have a tendency to over tighten things - over crimp in this case, but the ratcheting / release mechanism keeps the crimp the same every time - no matter how tight you try to go. For me, this is a great feature. Also has the gauges marked very clearly so would be hard to mis-use.

I wanted a better set of crimpers than the "wire terminal set" you see at the large parts retailers. If you do a lot (or even just some) automotive wiring, these crimpers are well worth it. Do yourself a favor and get high-quality terminals, too.

I saw a video ad for this tool. After decades of tearing up some connectors ending up with something looking like a dog chewed it up with those cheap wire cutter/crimper combo $3 tools, I finally got to see something that will end that frustration. I saw other similar products that I'm sure will work, however this company has more options. Very easy and actually fun to use. The ratchet action does not release until the crimp is complete. After a few projects completed, not one bad crimp. Not one busted through heat shrink connector. Just ensure the wire fits properly into the connector. Insert the connector into the jaws in the correct orientation and add slight jaw pressure to hold the connector. Insert and hold the wire. Squeeze the handle a couple of times. The jaws will continue close and not release until the crimp is complete. Then the jaws will release. I hope this tool maintains its adjustments. Literally a night and day difference in using a quality tool vs the ole, cheap wire cutter.

I have had so many challenges with crimpers in the past. I can't tell you how many connectors I have destroyed because of the crimpers. These crimpers allow me to crimp ONCE as it does a double crimp each time. Because of the ratcheting system, I can place the connector in the crimper, grab my wire and feed it in exactly where I want it and then squeeze. No more destroyed connectors, just a good, solid crimp that holds very well. After the initial couple of crimps to figure it out, I used a 50 pack of connectors on a project and only missed once (my fault, I pulled when I squeezed. Even if you don't do a lot of wiring, this makes it so much easier when you do and the price won't break the bank.
