Is the body fat reading on this scale almost same as dexa scan or are the reading off by alot? And is the weight accurate on this scale or way off?

Hi,

Even the two methods widely considered the "gold standard”(weighing in water and DEXA) also often present discrepancies. Body composition analysis is an inexact science, regardless of the manufacturer or method of measurement. Household body fat scale manufacturers mostly use the BIA measurement method. The readings are for your reference only.

It is suggested that users do not concern about the difference in the values between different devices, but rather focus on relative changes in the value measured under the same situation over long periods of time. Sticking with the same assessment system will likely yield a better overall picture of a person's health status. The relative changes in value are more meaningful than the absolute value of a single measurement.

Below are some tips for getting accurate weight:

1. Place the scale on a hard and flat surface. The unbalanced surface and softer floors such as carpet can cause inaccuracies.
2. Check the legs/pads of the scale for any obstruction that may cause an imbalance
3. During the measurement, try to keep your weight centered directly above the scale as much as possible.
4. Try waiting for the scale to auto-shutoff (about 10 seconds) before measuring again.
5. Avoid moving the scale. Moving the scale frequently increases the risk of inaccuracy.

How far can this scale be from the phone and still pass the information? If phone is in another room can this scale still pass the information?

Dear customer,

There are two ways to use our scale:
1. If you open the APP with Bluetooth and GPS (for Android) on while weighing, the data will be synced to your phone instantly. The range of the Bluetooth connection is approximately 10m, however, the maximum communication distance varies depending on various obstacles (people, metal, walls, etc.) or the electromagnetic environment.

2. If you use the scale without opening the APP, the measurement will be stored in the scale, you need to wake up the scale and turn on the Bluetooth and GPS (for Android) as well to sync the stored data when you open the APP next time.
