Worth it
This was my very first build. The absolute hardest part was trying to get the paint perfect. Spoiler alert, it is not perfect. I spent 2 months on it. It takes so long to let nitrocellulose clear coat dry. They say at least 2 weeks. So I painted it and messed up a couple times and then had to wait. I finally said screw it because I was sick of trying to get it perfect. Although I'm better prepared for next time. I bought this because it was cheap. I didn't use a lot of the hardware though. I bought fender tex mex pickups for about $100 and did my own soldering. I also bought the control knob set up on reverb and a Bigsby vibrato bar. The pickguard was purchased on ebay. That took forever to come in. They come from Canada and they have a ton of cool pickguards but they take forever to get delivered. If it didn't take so long for my paint job, I would of been annoyed on how long it took. Im also left handed. Which is another reason I wanted to build a custom guitar. They dont make lefties in the colors I like. Well they do but also they don't. Not as many options. I wanted a silverburst. I attempted one. Each, its not professional but the guitar sound pretty good to me. I had to use a neck shim to get my neck straight. I dont get any fret buzz. The action is pretty low. Which I like. It has a different feel than my strats. I've never even played a telecaster. So I can't compare to how a store bought Fender would be but overall I do like this. I've have a custom Strat made from the mod shop, the Cobain Jagstang, EVH, and a couple other guitars. They're all decent. This one is definitely a lot heavier. So I dont know if that's because telecaster are generally heavier or if its just because it's an inexpensive build from Amazon. I would say I put a total of $500-$600 into it with paint and new hardware. I hated the tuners. I bought locking tuners also. It is cool that it comes with everything you need. If you dont have a lot of money but want to build a custom guitar, then I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this. I would suggest tuners and strings though. I just can't recommend those tuners. They're not expensive. Make sure you buy telecaster tuners though. Also if its your first build and you're left handed. Almost everything needs to be a left hand version. So just make sure you buy the correct replacement parts.

Pretty worth it
Pretty good! It all fit together nicely. Of course some thingd will need to be changed and adjusted but with new accessories, it could be a good backup guitar! I think the best way to use this, is to build it with a son or daughter and give it to them. It's a fun project!

Great Guitar Kit with good bones, but look for better hardware
Edit: I have now bought two kits, the left handed Tele style kit I originally reviewed and a right handed Strat style kit in Pine. Let me say these are nice kits; but be prepared to immediately upgrade some of the hardware, the bridges on both kits have had issues. The bridge on the Tele style kit the screws for adjusting the saddle position for intonation were not properly spaced causing the saddles to push into each other when moving them towards the bottom of the guitar, the Strat bridge the screws for adjusting the string height on about half of the saddles were stripped (luckily I had a spare bridge from when I replaced the one on my Squire Strat). Instructions for putting the kit together are about 50% chance of receiving; the Strat kit had instructions and a key for the parts bag, while the Tele kit didn't. Be prepared for screws not proper lining up as they didn't on either kit. The pickups, at least on the Strat kit, sound good for a beginner just learning (a more experienced player will more than likely want better); not 100% sure about the Tele kit because I had to make emergency repairs due to a wire breaking. I removed 1 star due to the bridge issues I had with both kits, I didn't realize the full extent of the problem with the Tele bridge and just thought it was the style of bridge and not that the screw positions were out of spec. Original: This kit has the bare minimum for what you need to put together a working electric guitar. I purchased the Left handed Telecaster style guitar. There are some flaws where many of the screw holes didn't quite exactly line up and it would have been better if the strings were packaged separately and labeled, in fact it would have been useful if the entire parts/screws package had each labeled as what they were and not just a number that means nothing without a key to state what was located in each numbered section.

Great kit for the money!
I really enjoyed assembling this kit! For starters I put it together as it comes, with only the lightest bit of sanding in a few places to smooth a rough spot or two. It plays surprisingly well and sounds good for the price! Overall I'm impressed! Nice to find a couple of options in left-handed!

No instructions? Really????
I bought this for my eldest kid to build, on their own and without assistance…. A kind of fun learning experience. However this comes with no instructions at all. A search on their website got me a handful of bullet points. Not nearly enough for a novice to follow. As a luthier, I was able to walk them through the sanding, painting, top coating and building process…. But that defeated the purpose of my buying it. The build quality is ok. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the body. Having the electrics not require soldering made it easier for a first timer to build. Once it was built I checked the frets were level etc, and to my surprise they were almost all fine. My kid got it built. They are very happy with it. And for me, that’s almost all that matters. Can’t believe they’d sell it without build instructions though…. Some of the product images show instructions, which is the reason I picked this item over others available.

Leo Jaymz kit.
Instructions would be helpful. Everything appears to be there and the quality seems decent for the price. The mahogany body is very good. I'd have given it a higher rating if instructions had been included.

overall good 97%
watch when installing the bridge pick up that you don't shear off the conductors. I gouged a couple of groves in the cavity walls as there was very little room for the leads to go through the wire tunnels. but am rather impressed with everything else. very impressed.
