The Day Star is the ultimate grab-and-go pack, with enough features for a quick out-and-back. It also does double duty in the front country-remove the reservoir, and it's got room for books, lunch and a layer. Put it back in, and you've got enough water for 2+ hours on the trails. If you're loading up for a longer hike, there are side pockets for extra water bottles, attachment points for trekking poles, and a removable waist belt for more stability on the trail. When you're traveling light, just cinch down the compression strap for a compact fit that won't snag on branches. No matter what you're carrying, the women's-specific design means that the straps and back panels curve for a closer, more comfortable fit.

Great backpack
This is a great back pack! I wore it on day hikes all over Greece and it expanded/contracted to fit all of my different needs. The small from pocket has a few sub pockets so it doesn't get messy, and the larger section fit my parka, a book, maps, and trail mix easily.I also love the color, it is a deep sea green that I feel comfortable wearing around town and on a mountain.

Good Size and Quality DayPack
Used this for a music festival and I am so glad I did. Roomy enough for lightweight clothes for outfit changes. Deep pockets to hide premium vodka filled water bottles since venue doesn't allow for outside alcohol so that they can rip you off with mediocre vodka. Water reservoir big enough to fill with tap water provided at the venue and last for most of the day. I used it for a pillow when waiting for my favorite acts to start their sets. Also used it for a water park. Took out the water reservoir and used it as a normal backpack. Fits everything i need for the day. Lightweight to carry all day.

great fitting little pack
I really like this pack. It fits great and is a good size. The only thing that I miss is that on my old Cloudwalker, there was a zip pocket in the front that was perfect for stashing small items. There is still a TON of room and MANY compartments in the front zip compartment here, but it was nice to have that small quick zip. With that minor complaint to preference, this is a great day pack and will be wonderful for hitting some canyons this summer.

My Favorite
Day hiking is a favorite activity and this pack is perfect for it. Between the various sections and exterior pockets and straps to hang stuff on, you can carry a lot of stuff. I carry bear spray on the outside along with a small camera. Inside, extra layer, food, phone, money, id etc. Really, lots of room. Bladder and straw perform perfectly.

I love this pack, but . . .
I love this pack; it is perfect for my needs, so I am very sorry to have to return it. It's the women's cut. I'm 5'2" 115 lbs so I don't consider myself to have a huge neck. Having said that, this pack's shoulder straps hug my neck. After walking around my house in a tank with it on for minutes, I could feel it chafing my neck. I can only imagine how bad it would be after a couple hour hike. BIG bummer.New Note - I tried the pack on again and am going to try to make it work. I loosened the chest strap and added some weight to it. Adding weight to the pack pulls it away from my neck hopefully enough to prevent chafing. I should have noted before that the material that hugs your neck is mesh which is scratchy. If the material were softer, I wouldn't have considered returning it at all.

Best CamelBak I've ever owned!
Best day/CamelBak I've ever owned. Used this for a 3-week trip throughout the Andes and it was phenomenal. Plenty of pockets to stick a rain jacket, extra layers, snacks, camera, etc. with expandable pockets. The bladder have a large opening to put in ice cubes and for easy cleaning. I wore this through windy and rainy conditions and my electronics and clothes stayed completely dry.

Straps rub against your neck
The straps are too close to your neck and chaff as you walk. So annoying and uncomfortable. Thankfully this was apparent as soon as I tried it on right out of the box, so I returned it.

Awesome for Dayhikes
Living in Denver, I'm up in the mountains almost every weekend in the summer doing light hiking. To me, this is the perfect day hike CamelBak (5-7 miles). It can fit some layers, snacks, sunscreen, extra water, etc. It doesn't feel heavy to carry and the bladder is a perfect size. The color is cute but subtle. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is active and hikes often!

Perfect.
Love it. Exactly what I wanted. A small backpack with a bladder, perfect for when I'm out walking with the dog. Really comfortable and looks great too. Love it.
