Excellent motor oil!
I bought Mobil 1 extended performance 5w20 synthetic oil for my 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis LS, which I drive in the mostly hot and humid environment of South Florida. I installed this oil at my 30,000 mile oil change interval along with a Motorcraft FL820S oil filter in preference to the Motorcraft blended oils used in prior oil changes. As I approach 35,000 miles, my obversations and recommendations are as follows: 1) Because of the consistency of my driving habits, the newness and well cared for nature of the 4.6 liter V8 engine, and the fact I drive approximately 6,000 miles per year, I noticed a mileage increase of nearly 2 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving. 2) The engine runs more quietly! Yes, V8's run quietly because they have overlapping power strokes and more torque at low RPM's, but with this oil, it's even more quiet! VELVETY smooth! 3) Based upon consistently checking oil levels every month, my vehicle isn't losing or burning a drop of oil in the last 5,000 miles. This is consistent with prior experience with Motorcraft blended oils. Overall: Highly Recommended! Though not cheap, it's a good value when considering the benefits above and the need to change only once a year if you drive less than 15,000 miles in a year. Tips and Tricks: As with all reports, your experiences may vary. Here are some helpful tips: 1) Whether you buy individual quart bottles or the 5 quart container, you'll pay about half price if you wait and scrupulously follow sales! Be patient and at least once a year, Amazon has the low price and free shipping. So do big box retailers like Walmart. 2) If your vehicle is high mileage and prone to using oil between scheduled changes, consider Mobil 1 high mileage synthetic oil instead of this product. If you have 150,000 miles on your engine and are using synthetic for the first time, the only thing that will make it run like new is an expensive engine rebuild! 3) I use Motorcraft Oil filters made by Fram for Ford. They are street priced at a fraction of the cost of inferior filters three times the price! Aside from bulletproof construction, they can be used in other brands like Chrysler, GM, etc.. Just be careful to locate the proper model for your vehicle. Check multiple sources for the right filter, since there are errors in some online databases. Motorcraft filters have anti-backflow valves, the benefits of which are as follows: a. When the engine is turned off, oil lubricating the upper regions of the engine does not flow back through the filter washing trapped contaminants back into the crankcase; b. Retaining some oil in the upper regions of the engine assures better lubrication and less wear during cold starts. Happy Motoring!

Works well on my '13 Charger RT (With MDS) - Be sure to check for rebates!
Looks to be high quality stuff! I recently changed the oil on my 2013 Dodge Charger RT. I chose Mobil 1 for two reasons - First you can get crazy good mail in rebates from Mobil on the stuff and second - aside from Amsoil this stuff is constantly the most recommended oil I see. With the rebates I got 2 5 quart jugs of this stuff for $12.50 a piece. I could have done better if I had realized I was going to just buy the Mobil 1 Performance oil filter as well but I didn't so I bought them separately and only got the rebates on the oil. No bother, still a great deal on great oil. The consistency of the stuff is perfect, it looks extremely regular and the engine started up very smoothly with this oil in. My car only has 11,000 miles on it and my previous oil change was at 7,500 using Motorcraft Blended. I never thought full synthetic was worth it for me because I still like to change my oil ever 3,500-4,500 miles, probably stupid for doing that but old habits die hard. Regardless with the already cheap Amazon price and the great rebates, this was perfect for me. The Charger takes 7 quarts of oil so it was cheapest for me to buy two 5 quart jugs and get the rebates than it was to buy one 5 quart jug and 2 1 quart bottles Also, not I have 3 quarts of oil to use for next time. The Charger has MDS (4 cylinder shut-off) so the weight of oil is very important. I'd also imagine that conventional oil leads to decreased MDS performance as it ages, synthetic shouldn't have this problem over the same mileage count I wouldn't think. This oil says it can go to 15,000 miles the filter I got might also say that. I will try and stretch this next change to 6 or 7k miles because I do know that now-a-days the oil and cars don't need a 3,000 mile interval. I wouldn't do 15,000 miles ever, I wouldn't do 10,000 miles or more unless you do literally 100% highway driving with no traffic. Definitely good stuff and with the rebates available... The bargain of a century!

Good oil, fair price
Good oil. I know people who paid five dllrs per quart for the original Mobil 1 back in the early 1980's. That we can get the new and improved versions of the product forty years later for, basically, the same amount is pretty amazing.
