Description Glipizide is a prescription medication tablet used to in cases of Type II diabetes to help lower blood sugar levels. When combined with a low-carbohydrate diet, it has been known to be highly effective. Veterinarians sometimes use this in the treatment of companion animals. Customers may receive this drug under the name Glucotrol. Uses Glipizide is used to lower the blood sugar level in diabetics. It does not cure diabetes.
