Four Seasons 76959 Blower Motor

First a little story. This is for a 1st Gen Rav4 that just keeps going and going. 12 years ago, my original blower motor went out and since I live in a VERY hot and humid climate, I couldn't go without my AC so I stopped by an O'Reilly's and all they had was a universal motor that didn't even have the cage and no connector. I had to cut the wire and splice it. I've regretted that decision because the universal one with the old cage never worked right and always made a rattling noise which was super annoying and lately it was making a whistling noise in addition to the rattling noise and so I was going to buy an OEM model just to make it stop. Except that I couldn't because I no longer had the little connector at the end (one vertical one horizontal) and the OEM needs that.So I decided on the next best thing and it seems like Four Seasons is a reputable after market blower and it comes with the cage, and most importantly has a wiring harness which again I had to cut and splice. It works just fine but I'm not sure what the little plastic sleeve was for so I ignored it. If you are dumb like me and have to splice it, for some reason, the Orange wire is not the positive and it's the negative. I thought it was the positive and it caused the motor to go backwards.

This blower motor with cage works great. The connector on this unit is on a pig tail while the factory original was integrated as part of the housing. This is a non issue and will plug in no problem. Also the original housing was plastic and this one is metal. This is also a non issue, no problem.This motor does have a nice feature the original did not, this motor has a passage to allow some airflow to go through the motor housing which should extend its life. The only problem was a very slightly bent metal edge of the new motor which was simply bent back with needle nose pliers very simple.

This blower motor installed with ease, the unit fit perfectly and runs as strongly as the original.The only thing that may be a negative is that there is a slight hum at higher speeds which was not present with the original Toyota factory item.

This product is very very easy to install, runs very quietly and delivers an awesome amount of air flow. I will gladly purchase from here again and again!
