Great Lock
NO HUB OR GATEWAY NEEDED. The lock was simple to install. The one issue I had was to get it to connect to the Wi-Fi, I had to power it up, not in the door, closer to my router. It seemed that the location that I was installing the lock was too far from the router, it would not connect to my router. When I took the lock off the door and laid it on the kitchen counter, near my router, it connected. Then I took it back out to my walk-in garage door, installed the lock and it connects to my Wi-Fi, go figure. So if you are having trouble with the initial setup and the lock does not connect to your Wi-Fi, remove it and move it close to your router and get it to connect, don't complete the setup at this point, stop as soon as it connects to your Wi-Fi then put it back in your door and finish the setup. Not sure what the issue was, but now it connects to the Wi-Fi. Everything works great. Fingerprint works, put mine and my wife's fingerprint in, works. Codes work. Remote access works, drove several blocks from my house, had the wife stand at the lock and observe, and I was able to lock and unlock the lock. Connected the app, or lock, to Alexa and it works. You need to open your Alexa app and get the settings, set.I have, had, another lock, but you need a hub located within 10 feet of the lock. This lock, no hub.

An Excellent Must Have!!
I have always wanted to get a smart lock so I wouldn't have to deal with keys at all and neverhave to worry about getting locked out of the house. I recently stayed at a luxury condo at an Airbnb and it had a Yale pin pad smart lock. It was amazing not having to use keys so I decided to finally just go buy one. I researched for hours to find the best smart lock for me, and the Eufy smart lock hands down won. I loved all the features especially the fine print reader. They have a newer model with built in wifi, but this one was much cheaper and since it came with the bridge it does everything the newer model does- but more! With the bridge it had a SD card slot that can record video with Eufy security cameras. I love that so your not having to pay for a monthly subscription for cloud storage. It also acts as a speaker for Eufy doorbell. My phone has a finger print reader which I always use, it takes a second or two to recognize and unlock so I was wondering if this would be the same, or slower. That's why I liked that it also has pinafore for a code, or even an actual key if the batteries happen to die. It does have a USB jack on the bottom so if the battery dies you can hook up a power bank to it. I was pleasantly surprised that the finger print reader works extremely well and fast! It gets it right the first time every time and works almost instantly. I love it!! I am working on making my whole house a smart home, I have all the main rooms completed so I love that using the lock can trigger smart home routines to say turn on all the lights and turn TV on. The Eufy lock looks and works better than the Yale lock on the condo that is more expensive. I love literally everything about it from the design, build quality and feel, and the best part is no more keys!!! It's very cool that it comes with extra security-it has an extra sturdy door latch that screws in deeply to the door casing and wall to make it a lot harder for someone to push the door in. Another favorite feature that I almost forgot to mention is the autolock feature! You can set the timer for 1 seconds to 3 minutes upon closing the door to when it locks. I have it set to 1 second and is perfect. It's nice that it has a door open/closed sensor built in- most smart locks either don't have it or is an extra sensor to attach to the door. That's great because it will only lock if the door is fully closed and will let you know if the door is not securely closed. It was very easy to install. I can't say enough good things about it. It was 100% worth the money! If you have been thinking about it but debating on if it would actually be worth it- the answer is yes yes yes get it! Lol You'll be so happy you did!

The smart lock that does it all!
I started looking for smart door locks for our new place after getting tired of fumbling with different keys for the front and garage door locks. I could have gotten the locks rekeyed, but I decided to install smart locks on the two doors and get rid of keys altogether. After getting used to fingerprints to unlock and log into most apps on my phone, I just couldn't get myself to buy a smart lock without fingerprint support. The Eufy touch lock seemed to be one of few fingerprint smart locks out there backed by a well known brand, but it didn't come with wifi support. I heard the wifi version was coming, so I decided to wait a couple of months and finally took delivery of the updated locks last week. The locks are pretty easy to install, and come with good instructions and well labeled/organized parts. The locks took about 15 mins each to install. The app is also pretty easy to set up, and I can log into the app with fingerprints on my android phone. The one setup quirk I had to deal with is that selecting the "touch lock with wifi" when adding a new lock to the app didn't work. The QR code scan wasn't doing anything. I noticed that the product code on the lock was not 8520, but 8510, which is the same code as the non wifi Eufy touch lock, so I decided to add the non wifi touch lock to the app. This time, the QR code worked, and I was able to add the included wifi bridge separately and pair it with the lock. This should be good news for those of you who have the regular touch lock, as it indicates that you will be able to add Wifi support when/if Eufy starts selling the wifi bridge separately.I programmed each lock to unlock with three different fingerprints, and have been very happy with the responsiveness of the fingerprint scanner. It seems to be faster than the under screen fingerprint scanner on my Samsung Note 10+. The unlocking process with fingerprints is extremely quick and seamless.I also added my wife as a separate user, so she was also able to register her fingerprints with each lock. Each user also gets to select a 4 to 8 digit pin code (different code for each user). The app lets you customize a lot of things, including auto lock functionality (lock after duration, auto lock schedule with start/end time), wrong attempt timeouts, lock sounds, scramble pass code (add random numbers before and after your actual pin to hide it from prying eyes), etc.I've only had the locks for a few hours, but I have been very pleased with how well they work so far. The only minor annoyance is that one wifi bridge cannot connect to more than one lock, so if you have two locks like I do, you will have to have two wifi bridges operational. It would have been nice if the wifi bridges supported multiple locks, but it's not a deal breaker.
