The wife has been going on about wanting a disposal in our kitchen. We don’t have a switch wired to use it, so cutting a hole in the quartz countertop wasn’t a task I was looking forward to. I did end up getting a kit to do that - and add an air switch next to the sink.So, I found this and threw it in the cart. Price was a motivating factor. Not gonna lie. At 1/2 hp, I wasn’t expecting much. But we are on a septic system. So, we have to be careful what we throw down there anyway.Shockingly light compared to other disposals I’ve installed. The body seems to be made mostly of plastic, with the inner chamber of steel. Cost savings I suppose.Though I’ve done trim before, it didn’t hurt to have the directions handy. And they were a help. Slightly different install than others, but not difficult. Just needed to make sure everything went in the correct order.I will say it is VERY quiet. Though it is only 1/2 hp, it hasn’t bogged down in the few weeks we’ve used it. We aren’t chipping logs in the thing, or cutting up anything crazy. I suspect it will last a good while, assuming we don’t abuse it.Don’t let the off brand fool you. It’s every bit as good as the name brand lighter duty ones at the big box stores. At a fraction of the price.

My old one broke, and it was huge! Took up most of the space under the sink. The tevana is small quiet and super powerful. Plus the price is on point and easy to install.

For its price, this gets the job done, it went over pretty smooth at first, then I started running into some issues with the under the sink mount. Only thing that sucks is you have to really make sure its the correct direction or you will never get it locked into place. After the fuss, could be my own issues, but It is installed and works like a champ with no noise. Read directions carefully or you will never figure out how to get the lock washer out. Really sturdy though and for the price, I would recommend purchasing if you need a quick replacement.

Package arrived with no instructions and no paperwork, after an hour of wrestling with it I was able to get the disposal together. Very frustrating, the unit is working, so far so good. Amazon should not sell items that have been returned as new.

First of all, the item arrived fast and in good condition. The price is reasonable and the size is much smaller than the last unit. I like the size alot. Seems powerful enough? Time will tell. My only compaint is the mounting, I am not a fan. The first issue is that it is not easy to do under a sink in a confined place. The really big issue is that the ring in the sink spins when you are hitting the lower ring with a hammer to get it to lock. My ring on top is now no longer straight and there is not enough money in the world to get me to try and uninstall and reseat it.
